In my limited research I've found some possible replacements to get 2.5%+, BUT they all require some extra stuff to qualify.
- Bank of America cashback cards can get boosted to 2.5%+ if you are a preferred customer, but this requires $20,000-100,000 maintained in their Merrill investment accounts
- Alliant will give you 2.5% if you keep a checking account with a monthly average balance of $1,000 and have a monthly recurring deposit.
- There's some reddit threads about a credit union in Alabama that offered a 3% card if you could qualify to join their credit union (reddit threads made it seem fairly easy), but it looks like this was literally discontinued in the last day or two, so nevermind on that one
That's all I could find for cashback cards that aren't limited to categories. The requirements for the Alliant one don't seem TOO difficult, but I just hate having to set up another checking account with $1k sitting in it. May just get one of the 2%ers and maybe sprinkle in a few more 5% category cards
