I did the small generator window unit thing for the last 17 years, including one episode with no power for 14 days. Too much hassle ,getting gas, you can spend a hour hooking it all up, and the power comes back on in 5 minutes,
Got a 20KW Cummings air cooled from Gage total cost with tax $9,600.00. Last time I checked the operating cost was about $40 bucks a day in the summer with the AC running, With the current price of natural gas it is probably about $70 per day, but still worth it.
