I’ve got a chain link fence line at the end of our property that I want to plant a thornless blackberry variety that will also grow along the fence line. Baton Rouge area. Anyone have some ideas?
Arapaho, Apache, Natchez, Ouachita, and the Ark Prime Freedom are all erect thornless blackberry cultivars that seem to grow well in our region. I have 3 of each all planted 3 or 4 years ago. In my limited experience I’ve been most impressed by the Arapaho and Ark Prime Freedom. A lot of info on each cultivar on the University of Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station - the developer of all these varieties. Look at the short videos of each variety by Dr John Clark, developer of these cultivars.
