Almost every character was given a reason to shoot JR. I mean everyone. Family, friends, etc. and they all filmed scenes with them shooting him to keep the secret. Brilliant.
I remember that night, and how my parents were wrapping up dinner early so they could get to the living room and watch that episode. I didn’t understand how it led up to her character having to die. I still don’t know, I was 9 at the time. I was only hanging out with them for the Dukes of Hazzard. I think. Was Dukes of Hazzard on before Dallas? Either way, falcon crest was in the hole, and you knew when it came up swingin, it was gonna strike out. It was always so pathetic. You tuned in for a couple minutes to see if tattoo would say “the plane the plane.”
But, There was just something about that scene, even as a young child, that had you instantly realize….Pam’s dead. Which, is the last thing I remember hearing about Dallas as a child. I have no idea why we stopped watching it after she died. Was that almost the end of the series? At any rate,
