Halo 3 guys...

So Halo:Recon is coming out in about a year. Is it just me or are they doing this b/c Halo3 was so criticized by the avid players. The BR on H3 is terrible. I think they go back to the BR being a hitscan weapon, not the BR thread they use now. People mention, oh have you ever fired a real gun, because that's how it would be if you were firing one. Well this is Halo 3, and there are no needlers in real life. I don't hunt nor own guns, I just want the regular BR back.

They need to bring back the pistol from Halo:CE. I loved that thing and all the following pistols are poor representations.

I didn't play the first one, but when I go play Halo 2 I cannot be stopped. I'd be a happy camper if in Halo:Recon they made the BR right. I'm interested to see what this new character is all about. It's supposed to be a different dude. I sound like a big dork right now.

Recon appears to be solely based around battling it out on earth, something Halo 3 was supposed to be about. However, Bungie in the end went back on their word and the majority of the battling took place off planet in the end. I think they took a lot of heat for that, and this may be a way for them to make up for it.

Wow, if only bungie would bring back the Halo 1 pistol along with grenade launching weapons from across the map and timed power ups! Damn that would be awesome.

No fricking thanks. Any FPS where you can completely fricking dominate with the standard weapon and invalidate everything else is pointless and utterly retarded. I think the pistol in Halo 3 is fine.

It put the game on level playing ground for everyone. If you took the time to perfect your pistol shooting you were a force to be reckoned with.
Instead you've got people running to the BR and plasma pistol now. Ultimately, it cuts down the diversity of the game.
Especially when you've got the entire party shooting nothing but BRs. Very boring.

wtf? are u stick on halo 2? the plasma pistols ammo reduces while holding it fully charge up in halo 3.. and the BR is a garbage close weapon in halo 3.. the assault rifle owns the BR at close range.. the BR is a mid to long range gun which it was intended to be in the first place...

Back when we used to play CE it never ended up all pistols. On Halo 3 though, you have a shitstorm of BRs. Not that this is a fair comparison. Halo 3 is a retarded step brother to CE, albeit not as retarded as Halo 2

Yeah imagine dual wielding Halo: CE pistols...that would be the most retarded thing ever. They do not require skill and they are infair compared to the other guns. That would be like dual wielding needlers...just too overpowering and unfair.

Well, I think all the top halo players want the pistol back because it requires the most skill and you don't have noobs camping around corners because if you are good enough with the pistol you could potentially take out any other weapon.... It also speeds up the game and makes it more fun.

are you all refering to online play?
fwiw, i started halo:ce on the pc for my son(he is now 7), then H2 for windows. have never played any online stuff, he is getting xbox360 and H3 for christmas.

Dual wielding them would definitely be overpowering.

b/c its a 3 shot kill.. whats the point in even looking for a diff weapon when u already have the 2nd most powerful weapon in the game as soon as you spawn...

Replace "pistol" with "BR", and you are talking about Halo 3.
The BR just requires a little bit more skill.
The pistol was overpowered.
