He's talented as an athlete.

But as a basketball player, not so much.

It's just bad that he makes more "rookie fouls" than Herb, Trey and Jose do.

He does doesn’t have the IQ and feel to be a defensive anchor. He can handle simple assignments and the basic reads but anything that requires advanced reads, he’ll struggle to identify.

When you watch Nance play defense and watch Hayes play defense, it’s night and day. Nance understands what his opponents are trying to do and anticipates it and attempts get to the spot he knows his opponents are trying to get to before or on time. He also makes calculated gambles/decisions based on his IQ and feel… and it works out the majority of the time.

Hayes seems to react only to the checker moves. And that’s not good enough right now.
