I've been to many games at the Swamp, and have never noticed mics, and I have been seated close to the band, but maybe it is something that has been done this year.

As for the students sitting close to the LSU band, the "student" section is basically the west side of the stadium to portions of the south endzone. They mix in the visiting team around section 45 or so (around visiting band) and behind the visting team bench. So, the students do sit by both bands actually.

Where was that LOUD stadium at this past week-end? Mighty quiet in TS!! Was it a packed house? And fans filing out of their house before game was over? Maybe you guys should consider piping in sound?

Agree that the crowd yesterday sucked. It never really got loud. I had the misfortune of sitting in the Georgia section and their fans drowned out the band where I was sitting.

I think good levels on noise were the openings of the VT and UF games last year. The announcement of the USC loss was just insane though. I thought my ears were going to explode.
