More than the soy and sugar I would expect the lack of excersise and WAY too much screen time has a larger role.

When I was a child my mother would tell me to go outside after school. Especially on weekends and during summer break. She would get us outside after breakfast. Usually lunch was waiting for us on the back patio and we needed to stay out of her house until the street lights came on.

I had to have a really good reason to come into the house during the day, and if I tracked dirt onto her floor there was hell to pay.

Now instead of playing outside kids sit on their asses on Ipads, laptops or watching TV. That is the reason for the fatties.
