After watching the FL game i am so very depressed that I haven't yet recovered. I am sure there will be many here with the same effect.
I've always said that right from the BO PELINI era our defense was not the so called "LSU DEFENSE". I am not saying that we need a KILLER DEFENSE. I am very skeptical about these 2 young Co-Defensive co-ordinartos. I don't think these dudes can handle the LSU defense and get to the level where we had a defense during the Saban era. Just my opinion.

This is LSU and we are the "FIGHITING TIGERS". The way we played on saturday did not look like we were even close to being a "Fighiting Rats"..

Come on guys this is LSU and our defense should not be under suspicion under any circumstances which means even during a loss.

When Miles hired these 2 co-ordinators I was very doubtful about our season against very good teams. The big blown up play against Appalachian state lead to many questions.

We have lot of fast guys and out talent depth at many defensive positions are not the same for most of the schools. Lots of schools envy us for the amount fo talent we have.

Are we being wise in the way we are utilizing our talents? The answer is a BIG NO.

This is LSU and our defense should we LSU DEFENSE.
Not sticking to the game plan is just the way of finding excuses. I know Miles is just covering up everything for the media. Only he would know what is at stake for this team to come back and play like LSU TIGERS
We have TALENT (Period) We have Speed (Period) We have Depth (Period)
Above all we have the heart to WIN (Period)
What is lacking then? Coaching?
Give me an answer please.

When Brandon Spikes kicked the ball after the Interception return for the touch down it was like somebody giving a punch in the face and saying "GO TO HELL"

FRICK YOU!!! Man we are LSU. I am starting this thread with lot of emotion. Hope our team has it too and we should see a different LSU team against SC.

If not Les better .........

After the Moo State game I posted that our inability to pressure QBs was a big problem that would hurt us when we played a good team, and I got flamed by a lot of ranters.

I say again: If you are near the bottom of your league in sacks and forced turnovers, you do not have a good defense.

If that means we have to take more risks and bring more blitzes then so be it. But just sitting back waiting for a team to run its offense and trying to defend them straight up does not work when the other team has equal speed/skill. You have to disrupt the offense.

That is my biggest concern. When we had the Saban/Muschamp defense, it was an attacking, agressive, disciplined defense. Many teams feared it and it was fun watch and good to know that it would show up. The fact that we have more talent then 4 years ago with worse results tells me it is coaching. And no I'm not saying Nick Saban is better than Les(he is a better Offensive mind), but if you can honestly say that Nick and Will's D is not as good as the past four years then you are dumb. We need to hire an aggressive DC or we will see this every once and a while.

No doubt, I really hoped Miles would try to bring Muschamp back here when he left Auburn. Saban/Muschamp defenses gave up big plays too, seemingly the middle of the field was its soft spot, but they definitely did seem to wreak more havoc.

Also, I think offenses in general have impoved the past few years.

I agree.

Question: Does anyone know if Florida's revitalized running game hass any correlation to the "new" package Oregon St. is running this year? I heard that this Oregon St. package will be common place amongst college teams by the end of the year. Comments?

Ditto. When I first heard Miles decision to have "CO-defensive coordinators", I had a gut feeling it wouldn't work. I didn't think much of Peveto when he did a miserable job as special teams coach. Mallory was a question mark to me. But NOT being able to pick ONE resulted in a poor coaching/management plan with no ONE person responsible for really really sloppy defense we've played all year. Florida exposed the massive weakness of our defensive decision-making, play-calling, confusion on the field, alignemnts, personnel, etc. A couple weeks back Miles said this already-identified confusion is "correctable", but it hasn't happened yet. We're waiting ...
