Our kid has a switch. We only allow him to play on the weekends, and he likely spends 6 hours between Friday and Sunday gaming. He has to do chores to earn the privilege and we have no problem not letting him play for a couple weeks if he isn’t meeting our expectations.
Honestly I think he plays a little too much, but my husband convinces me not to nag about it. I didn’t wake up and play video games on Saturday morning as a kid. However, we sure as hell got up before our parents to watch 3 hours of awesome violent cartoons and eat an entire box of cereal with many, many spoonfuls of sugar.
