I play video games once or twice a week... and I'm 34 with an 8 year old. She plays a couple of games on her iPad (roblox? I think)... she is allowed 15 min. of playing time after dinner and before bath, after homework has been completed along with studies. Just balance the shite, dude.... it's not that difficult.

To each their own but I’ve noticed the parents we know that are super strict with time limits on things are the ones whose kids throw massive fits to use the things.

If you’re an active parent who is participating your kids will most likely want to do other things, I don’t see a problem with letting them play video games or watch an iPad after they’ve been playing outside for 4 hours or if I need to take a nap in the middle of the day on a weekend.

that's not even equivalent to a normal full length cartoon episode (a half hour).

why not make it 5 minutes?
