And theres that universal health care progressives want so bad.

Poor guy should have been PEC'd into an inpatient facility immediately. But that's frequently the type of mental health professionals the VA employs. Just in it for the benefits and paid vacation, have never served a day in their lives and treat you like an inconvenience.

The only good mental health practitioners I know of who work at the VA... are also veterans. And thats a tiny % of an already small %.

Yep.

The VA is everything wrong with medicine and government.

Your employer chooses your insurance provider. Your insurance provider chooses what doctors you can go to. Your insurance provider chooses what's covered. Your insurance provider chooses what prescriptions are covered. On top of all that, you still get to pay extra (co-pay, deductible, total out of pocket, and procedures not covered) for care. So tell me how the illusion of choice is better than universal care? Under universal care, if you still want to "own the libs" by choosing to pay for a bloated insurance pyramid scheme, you can.

Still want UHC as a base with private supplementation. Base health insurance tied to an employer is stupid.

Reimbursement levels would have to change drastically to make it work though.
