He was the best player on the court in almost every game and people don't remember him at that level. He was a pure scorer who could get to the rim off the dribble and finish against anyone.

Yes.
His name never seems to come up when LSU greats are mentioned. He led the Tigers to a conference title with Trent Johnson as coach. That should be enough to get a nod. He was SEC POTY, and had some decent years in the NBA.
