Anyone who cannot acknowledge that OUR DEFENSE is lacking GOOD COACHING--has obviously never been in a program that has Good Coaching!

Coaching is the difference.... We have the talent on defense!

Lack of proper schemes and adjustments......

No organized blitz package.......

Lack of discipline in coverage and gaps......thats coaching my friends!

At this stage we should never get blown out like that! We are at the five game mark, we can see that our team biggest WEAKNESS IS DEFENSIVE SCHEMING---COACHING!
NORTH TEXAS, AUBURN, MOO ST all scored more on us than on lesser opponents....
Lets take our blinders off and be honest so that we can fix the problems... what say you?

YOU ARE RIGHT...

the talent is there....
the coaching is not.....like any other job,....

if you are not given the tools,
you can not do the job.

I agree. Our talent is there, but the coaching is the difference this year.

Yeah I think the talent is there it's just a utilization issue. Everyone talks about all this "speed" we have on defense but if we have it then why aren't we using it? I mean I guess it's cool to be able to read and react quicker so we give up a 7 yard play instead of an 8 yarder?

I agree...here's another issue---who are the leaders on defense? I don't see anyone stepping up besides maybe C. Taylor?

I agree. For those that say our defense has sucked since Pelini has been at LSU, I am not buying. We still found a reason to finish in the top 5 and although we did have a few wr and a qb in the nfl draft, I don't think we were thought of as an offensive team, so I think the issue this year is the coaching and the new players. Like I said earlier, too many chiefs and not enough indians. We need to have one.

I agree, our D last night was just plain awful. We deserve to lose with play like that.

Agreed! Lets see how Les handles this! That's why he gets paid the "Big Bucks". He has to make the hard decisions.

I have faith in Les. I see an earthquake coming on the "D" Issue.

I said this about 3-4 weeks ago and got blasted for it, glad to see some people at least are realizing that we are dropping off in the coaching dept.

yeah, seems if you point to a glaring issue, you are suddenly a bandwagoneer. Call it like you see it, and pray for improvement.

Horrible game plan last night by Mallveto. Just horrible. It reminded me of the dark ages...even before Tepper.

We can hope Les does something about the defense, the problem is that we dont know soon enough... It would be great if Les would just come out today and say, the defense has been dealt with and this wont happen again, unfortunately we know that miles likes to keep that business behind closed doors for the most part. It just hurts as a fan.

Florida is a good team and probably would have won last night no matter what we did, face it, they were just on last night. Its not the loss that hurts but the way we lost. Going down without a fight. Its so disappointing see us down 30 points and defensive players talking smack to the gators when they stop them. You are down 30 points, no reason to talk noise. the defense will be dealt with, or Miles wont have a job for much longer. But I trust Miles and he knows what it takes to win and will do whatever it takes, fire whoever it takes, hire whoever it takes.

I know we can't just fire them..... but they must take an honest assessment of their skill set.
They are not good at scheming and overall coordinating an entire defense....
Now they must take this time to get better at their job....
STUDY OTHER SUCCESSFUL SCHEMES......cannot be too proud to copy the successful schemes and packages of other defenses...
