That was a pretty weak effort on that ball that got by him for a double. Even Hellmers makes that play

Jobert being the hot bat is going to need to either cool way off or get a position.
Milazzo’s battery is going to keep him in the lineup.
Defensively, 3B, SS, and RF need to be determined.

I’ve said it since he 1st weekend. He’s a very skilled hitter, but he’s not a good athlete. He can’t be hidden anywhere. We are a worse team with him on the field anywhere than we would be with him at DH.
I do wonder, though, with all the talk about the lack of RH hitters off the bench, of maybe he was hoping this combo would work to where Merrifield could be another RH bat to pinch hit. But whatever advantage that may give you is negated by Berry at 3rd. He’s simply a terrible college defensive player. And there’s zero chance he’s the 1st college guy off the board in the draft. He’s fielded himself into the teens in less than 10 games.
