Biggest problem I see with Wade and this year’s team is the repetitive mistakes with dumb fouls and turnovers that he has been unable to fix.

Mwani Wilkinson and Efton Reid are the two biggest perpetrators of stupid fouls. Mwani reaches, takes bad angles and fouls 3-point shooters at will. Efton looks like he can’t control his body on the court and anytime he’s around a guy he falls on or pushes him for an easy foul call.

Gaines is the biggest turnover culprit. He will inexplicably make a lazy pass, dribble off his foot out of bounds or just get the ball stolen at least twice a game and those turnovers turn directly into fast break points on the other end.

There’s been no improvement from any of these guys in these areas from the beginning of the year. Whatever Wade’s doing behind the scenes, if anything, isn’t working. And apparently, they still get the same number of minutes each night, so discipline through benching is not being implemented.

I like Wade and I think he knows the issues. I think he’ll tweak the roster until he gets the right balance of scoring and defense combined with high IQ play on both ends. But he has yet to fix some of these problems this year and they will almost undoubtedly be the cause of our exit from the tourney.
