Rape? What rape? Baylor found no cause existed and paid Briles his full contract. The NCAA cleared the man and found not even one instance where he had prior knowledge that a player had sexually assaulted someone at Baylor and did anything to suppress the information.

You mean the NCAA, who has almost zero authority on the matter or subpoena power to do a real investigation, "could not conclude that Baylor or Briles violated NCAA rules by failing to report allegations of sexual and interpersonal violence committed on the campus" means he was "cleared". Okay

And do you mean Baylor didn't want a legal fight with Briles over his contract where they would have to go to trial and Baylor officials would have to answer questions under oath if they don't have to? Color me shocked!!!! His buyout was $15 million. That is a freaking great deal if you don't want to air more dirty laundry than has already been aired.

Well they did fire him based off of a report from the Pepper Hamilton law firm. Here is a bit of that report:

"In addition to broader University failings, Pepper found specific failings within both the football program and Athletics Department leadership, including a failure to identify and respond to a pattern of sexual violence by a football player, to take action in response to reports of a sexual assault by multiple football players, and to take action in response to a report of dating violence. Pepper’s findings also reflect significant concerns about the tone and culture within Baylor’s football program as it relates to accountability for all forms of athlete misconduct."

But that doesn't sound like it is the fault of Briles. Sounds like this is all a witch hunt.
