It’s gorgeous and I trust Ruger’s quality but I’ve got no experience with 45-70 and my only experience with a lever action is my shooting a few rounds of my friend’s 30-30.
I’d hate to spend $1100 on a rifle that’s not fun to shoot.

Yeah, I would not get one for a range gun. Its definitely a hunting rifle.
