quote:
This is one of the main reasons the Russians launched their “special military campaign” in the first place. Putin looked at Biden and he saw a weak, corrupt, and feeble minded dolt and he knew he had nothing to worry about from the US as long as the Biden regime is in power.
Or was Trump supposed to pull the US out of NATO - as he wanted to do while in office but was held off by his cabinet - and Putin thought he'd have no pushback in invading Ukraine? Trump lost... Putin went ahead with it, anyway, because he felt it was his last chance to stop Ukraine from aligning with the EU and truly prospering and stoking opposition to him within Russia?
Anyone should be able to look at Obama's statements and conclude that he probably made some back-channel deal with Putin to ignore the invasion of Crimea and beyond in exchange for cooperation on the Iran nuclear deterrence deal, or at least signaled his cooperation by publicly saying "Ukraine is a concern for Russia, but it simply isn't for the US."
Who knows what Trump's reason is for placating Putin... but it is what he always does.
