But to get down to brass tacks, no I don’t grin at paying $40 to the government to stomp out our biggest enemy since WWII. I did my time in our military. Paying essentially a bar tab per year to ensure the Russians lose is nothing.
My personal commitment during my service was surely a lot more than that.

Total a few billion now but if Ukraine falls, it will be a helluva lot more annually to support having troops all over Eastern Europe like we had based in Germany for decades.
Pay up now or a lot more later. I bet you never have oil changed in your vehicles because it costs too much.

I’d rather my taxes go to the Ukraine than to welfare mothers, paying off student loans, slum lords, climate control, or so many of the other wasteful and nonessential programs we all support.
