Interesting history, and thx for sharing. I did some further research since "McNaspy" caught my attention. Clement J. McNaspy - wiki was born in 1882, grew up in Kansas, and somehow ended up at LSU to further his education and play football. McNaspy moved to Lafayette where he was a Physics & Chemistry Professor, and coached the basketball, baseball, and football teams. He was SLI's first Ath Director. Was 51 yrs old when he suddenly died of a heart attack. SLI built McNaspy Stadium (seat cap 4,500) in his honor.

They don’t look very happy. Maybe this is why:
