unpopular opinion- you should have to be shot at or spend a longggggg time and earn a high rank to get any sort of pension or significant benefits from the military

I dont know , i feel like military service is declining in popularity (no evidence or link, mind you) so we probably need to do whatever we can to entice people to, and keep them in, the military.. i dont really have a problem with my tax dollars going towards early pensions and great benefits for military members, since it always seemed to me , ever since i was a kid, that going the military route would be an extremely difficult life, that is anything but lucrative .

If i have an unpopular opinion about the military, it’s that they should raise the draft age , and sign up age, from 18 to 21.. 18 is practically a baby, and they dont know what theyre signing up for, and they have no business getting drafted that young to possible go die .
