Why we have had a triad system since WW2. As others have mentioned, we have subs, aircraft to deliver the payload, and missiles.

Question that I wonder, whenever we hear about these hypersonic capabilities of china and russia (other than its another threat so the MIC can spend trillions), who gives a shat if it gets here in 10 seconds or 10 days, our missiles will be aloft as well. Or do you believe this is like the westerns and we wait til they shoot us first then arm ours?????

Thanks to Hedy Lamarr we have the capability to bring them down if we dont want them to hit target.
