Reminded me of the same people who moan and complain about the Rutgers basketball/Immus scandal, Jessie Jackson using the "n" word, and all the other overly-sensitive bullshite that the media feeds us everyday and some of us are naive enough to absorb it. God, this country is on sensitivity overload.

Personally, I laughed...especially at the part about the "trained medical staff". Tebow's a big boy...he can deal with it. It's smack talk. Boxers do it. I thought it was great. RJF represents LSU, but he doesn't represent me or you personally.

And let's not blame him if we lose.

The media blew this one way out of proportion, i wish i could've heard him say it though. I doubt he had cruel intentions, it was probably just in the moment.. idk though

Us vs Florida is always a great game, i mean..the whole cellphone thing last year was fun. Tebow had fun with it too..Tebow knows people are going to be coming for him, that's a given. It's friendly competition.

Media always needs a story.

My take:

Nonissue.

Once the game kicks off, what was said will have ZERO bearing on the outcome.

Has anyone read is response on LSUSports.net? Maybe this would shut all this down. This isn't nearly as much fun as last years "Tebow Cell phone" fun.

quote:

10/07/2008 by www.LSUsports.net BATON ROUGE -- LSU defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois issued the following clarification to a quote that was attributed to him in today’s online edition of the OrlandoSentinel.com: “We never go into any football game trying to hurt a player from the other team. My comments in regard to Florida quarterback Tim Tebow were misinterpreted and were intended to reflect the style of football that we play at LSU. We have great respect for Tim as player and a competitor. By taking him out of the game, I meant, as a defense we are going to try to make him ineffective. I’m sorry that my initial comments were interpreted another way.” -- LSU DT Ricky Jean-Francois

or this . . .
quote:

The incident: Auburn guard Chaz Ramsey’s chop block at the knees of former LSU star Glenn Dorsey.
But the memory of the play ... is still fresh in the minds of the LSU players ... especially to Jean-Francois.

“When I first saw it happen, I froze up because I didn’t think a team would really do something like that,” said Jean-Francois, who was on the sideline, but not in action because of an NCAA suspension. “They kept showing it on the scoreboard and you can see it all over the place on YouTube. It’s not something that is going to go away.”

...he’s still troubled about why the block happened.
“Is the game really that serious or that important that you’d go out and ruin somebody’s career?” Jean-Francois said. “I wasn’t really worried about it happening again until somebody mentioned it (Tuesday). Now it’s something you have to think about. I hope whatever happens this week, they let a pancake block be the worse thing they do.”

Does that sound like a guy who would discuss deliberately trying to hurt Tim Tebow?

Hardly.

My take:

I wouldn't want RJF to be thinking any other way.

Watching the Saints vs Vikings and seeing the hits on the field only confirms that when it all gets down to basics, every player is thinking that way. And if they're not, they're not good enough to play in the pros.

Hey, it could have been worse.
Tebow could have interpreted 'take him out' as take him out on a date.
