I wouldn’t be surprised if they bring in every candidate and quickly tell them 2 things:
1st, this is a real interview and we are really open to the idea that you may be the guy —BUT
2nd, short of you blowing us away, we are REALLY leaning towards keeping this staff as much intact as possible which means promoting from within.

Both can be true and fair.

The coaches and scouts in Mobile are gathering good intel that they’ll bring back to Metairie, and 95% they are all going to be asked to stay.

IF someone were to blow the doors off an interview, even then I could see Mickey telling them something about how a certain many things will not be up for debate in terms of staff, methodologies, etc
