Dale Brown once had a team with what, 4 future NBA players and couldn’t get anywhere

2018 team had at least 4 nba players
waters, smart, mays, reid

possibly in the future - days, emmitt williams

---

the final four team of 86 had 3 NBA players -
Ricky Blanton, John Williams, Nikita Wilson

the final four team of 91 had 2 NBA players -
Rudy Macklin, Howard Carter

The 1990 team had 3 NBA players - Shaq, Mahmoud, Stanley Roberts (36 years combined in the NBA) and lost a close game to a Georgia Tech in the tournament. Tech had 4 NBA players (Kenny Anderson, Brian Oliver, Malcolm Mackey, Dennis Scott - 53 years combined)

Not buying the 'Dale Brown couldn't coach talent' argument.

---

Until Rudy Macklin showed up, LSU had only one NBA player in 7 years, the Dr. Kenny Higgs.

A great example of Dale Brown's coaching ability was shown in the final moments of the LSU Georgetown game that took place in the Super Dome in 1989. During a time out John Thompson was diagramming a play like a mad man. Frantically drawing X's, O's and arrows with great skill and confidence. On the LSU bench Dale Brown huddles his team around him. Surrounded by his players Coach Brown asks them "Do you want to win this game?" The players enthusiastically shout "yes" and other affirmations. Coach Brown then says "go win it!" They break huddle and return to the court. LSU defeated number 2 Georgetown that day in January but that is pretty much how Dale Brown coached basketball.
