Does Tom Hanks get lucky in Big?
In Star Trek IV, the marine biologist is a half-hearted love interest for Kirk, and I think gives him a big kiss as she jumps into the transporter to leave earth. It's kinda dropped after that, though.

After the “trial” at the end, I think Kirk is expecting that they will spend a few days in pound town, but she hugs him and says “bye…I’ve joined a science vessel”. He is shocked. She leaves him hanging.
