Careful now.
LOL. j/k
There are still tons of ducks on the Lake (esp Duck Lake that is off limits and part of the southern part of the NWR right there) and all around that area and in the ag fields and all of the rivers and little bayous all winding down to meet near Jonesville and Simmesport and south of there. The problem with the Lake is that there are SOOO many people out there on top of each other now and they are so pressured and many learn fast not to land or fly low in certain spots.
They still kill ducks at Honeybrake. But like I said, I just want to go to say I've been.
I agree though, a trip to Nebraska/the Dakotas/Kansas/Ok/etc. would be a sure thing. I really wanna make a Canadian trip. Had a buddy do it with his family and it sounded badass and they killed so many ducks. Are the limits different there or something? Bc they had a hell of a stack of big ducks and geese piled up, granted there were a good many hunters.

Yes. Higher. The ducks aren’t in full color yet if that matters. I think it was 8 ducks / day when I went and a very high number for geese.

Can be as good as Canada on the right day.
We did all field hunting. One guy wore tennis shoes the entire time.
The last day the wind was so high that a group of specs were trying to land and couldn’t because they kept getting lifted back up.
