In the 1987 Ohio State - LSU game, Buckeye QB Tom Tupa kept stepping away from center on the first play from scrimmage because the Tiger Stadium crowd was too loud for him. He was waiting for the refs to step in and throw a flag, but it never happened. The crowd just got more amped until they were finally forced to snap the ball.
That sequence was pretty awesome, especially considering it was a day game in Tiger Stadium. The full game used to be on youtube, but I could only find this clip, which is an abbreviated version of the noisy sequence
