If people read the bible they wouldn't remain a Catholic for long. The Catholic church has so many teachings that contradict the biblical teaching such as the papacy, sacraments(infant baptism), Maryolatry, confessing sins to a man, penance, and purgatory which is a money-making racket to get relatives of people who pass away to have to pay for the priest, etc. to pray them out of purgatory to "hopefully" one day reach heaven. They teach a works salvation as opposed to placing one's faith and trust in Christ ALONE, and his finished work on the cross, and subsequent resurrection. God will destroy this corrupt system that's referenced in Revelations 17 and 18.

That's funny considering it was the Catholic Church who put the Bible together at the Synod of Rome (382), the Council of Hippo (393) and the Council of Carthage (397). And then it was St. Jerome who was personally commissioned by Pope Damasus I to write the first translation of the full Bible.

But what do those filthy Catholics know about the Bible

Congrats on not seeing the commonality of all Christianity and going straight for the bigotry
