Do they have to build a high in the sky bridge over the Calcasieu? I've been over that I10 bridge a bunch and have never seen an ocean going ship on the north side.

Not sure. Maybe there was something upstream from the bridge that used to see particularly tall vessels?
I think Lake Charles will eventually need a crossing around Moss Lake too.

No. There’s no reason for it to be that high. It was originally built that high for ships to go under but the project that was supposed to accommodate those ships never happened? I’m not 100% sure on that though. I remember growing up, I heard it was to allow warships to come through, but it was built in ‘52, so that’s not correct.
