Maybe Ohio's politicians didn't demand as big a handout as Louisiana's traditionally do?
Less regulatory bullshite
More educated workers (at least a HS diploma and some college)
Less corruption.
Corporations will build where they can attract or move quality people. They'd lose a shite load of potential workers if they located to LA.

I can understand Columbus.
But the massive investment in Arizona is curious. It’s a well run state that’s perfect for solar power…but with no water to support a rapid expansion that all of this investment will bring. Doesn’t Phoenix get everything from a depleting lake Mead?
For industrial expansion, that is every bit of a red flag as the potential for tornadoes or hurricanes in the south. It’s less of a concern for white collar jobs and research though. Arizona is doing well in that area too.

The biggest problem Louisiana has is that the people in general are ignorant about what life is like elsewhere so they continue to vote for the status quo while the place sinks around them. Corruption and incompetence is explained away and justified and hey the food is good.
We moved last year from NO to Tennessee. Between no income tax, lower property taxes, and lower insurance rates we’re saving close to $15k per year and our roads don’t look like we live in Mogadishu, my kids can actually attend public school without getting shot and or underserved, and there are high paying jobs for the taking. What does Louisiana offer that is worth anywhere close to 15k per year? For that I can get gumbo and king cake flown in and still have 14.5k in the bank. Why would a company relocate to the state and struggle to fill jobs when they can go somewhere that won’t shake them down and employees WANT to live there?
