It's my top 5 sports films of all time easily.
I remember watching the 2002 A's and thought they were a nice little story in baseball, and them making a movie off of that team was interesting to me. Pitt, Jonah, and PSH we're excellent casting choices for their roles too.
Also correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Miguel Tejada win the fricking MVP that year too? I find it very fascinating they kept showing Jeremy Giambi, Hatteberg, and David Justice throughout the movie, but they never brought up Hudson, Mulder, Zito, Tejada, Chavez, Jermaine Dye, etc. who were all very good.

I think he talks to Hudson and Chavez quickly passing through the clubhouse once. Dye and Tejada only existed in the game footage. Zito and Mulder never come up.

by far the biggest flaw in the movie, that team was not nearly as hopeless as they made it out to be.
all with over 200 Innings
Hudson 15 wins 2.98 era
zito 23 wins 2.75 era
Mulder 19 3.47
with 192 inning cory lidle with 8-10 with 3.8
So the top of their pitching staff was elite

Yes, and Zito won the CY. That team was legit with or without Chris Pratt getting on base.
