Changing AT&T number

I'm on a family plan currently with my family in Baton Rouge for the discounts of course. However, I am in Dallas now and would benefit professionally having a Dallas area code. Can I just switch the number, or will I have to start a new plan and increase costs?

I have a question about my AT&T phone plan. I should: (a) call AT&T and ask them my question, or (b) post my question on an online message board and ask random strangers to answer it.

Just call it in and say you are getting harassing phone calls. That will waive the change fee
