Round Rock is fine. Vandergrift, Cedar Park, Hutto, Lake Travis, basically any suburban school is a college compared to Louisiana public schools. The inner city public schools get a bad rap here, but are pristine compared to La.
Bowie High in south Austin is a great school as well. If you don’t mind a commute. My pick would be San Marcos, New Braunfells.

Be careful north. The saying, “Come to Williamson County on vacation, and leave on probation!” is real.

Thanks for the tips. Vangergrift and Cedar Park and Lake Travis sound compelling. Looks like Elementary and Middle Schools have good ratings in LISD, but High School rating is a bit low. Hutto Schools have low ratings across the board.

Regular commmute to downtown seems like it would get old real quick.

This is the right answer. I have lived and raised kids in New Braunfels and Hutto/ Pflugerville area. All of the above. New quite a bit of Bowie adults and they are great people. As well as the others listed.
