Remember... this is an area where people were told "oh trust the levees"...

I hope of course that the new levee systems will be fine but again so much of what's happening down here comes down to trust. The locals don't trust the Corps and they don't trust the Port and it's hard to say they shouldn't feel that way.

It doesn't take an engineer to realize that if the levees somehow failed again in a specific location where the wetlands would come into play, that plot of land as wetlands would do next to nothing to prevent devastation to the surround area. A couple hundred acres won't be soaking up the Gulf of Mexico, sry.
