If LSU can split with Georgia and Florida and win the rest (including Alabama, of course)...then the rankings will take care of themselves. If we lose 2 of those games, it really won't matter. Therefore, it is pointless at this point to worry about who jumps us and who doesn't.

I don't think Nebraska was ranked. Not a big deal.

Rankings on Dec. 8:

1. Big XII Champ
2. SEC Champ
3. BYU
4. Big 10 Champ
5. USC

You could switch #1 and #2.

From what I saw last night, Mizzou looks solid. And, so did OU.

But for the last 7 years, it has been the same tired story for Oklahoma. Oklahoma is the Chicago Cubs of college football, with the exception that OU actually makes it to the final game every now and then.

OU looks like world beaters regular season because they beat up on Baylor, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, etc. Every now and then they'll face one of the shitty SEC teams and proclaim that since they beat one of the shitty ones, they'd make a run at the rest of the SEC.

But then, they go to the Bowl game and lay a big fricking egg on the field. It's the same thing, year in and year out. Chokelahoma.

I do not think OU will beat Mizzou by 40 pts now or anytime this season, but it will be an interesting game.
UT and OU next Saturday will be an awesome game.

MU is good. Their game against UT and OU will be their real test. I would hate to play them.
CD/Coffman/Macklin would shred our secondary.

OU is not as good as everyone thinks. Bo got in a messy situation by taking over that program I have said it time and time again he is a good defensive coach and that's it.

LSU didn't even play this week. We shouldn't fall far if at all. So far...we have won the NC, practiced & played around hurricanes, brought along a freshman QB, and have gone undefeated. We will only get stronger in every facet. No worries

cuz we beat an auburn team that lost to vandy, and a msu team put 24 on us that only put up 7 on georgia tech. lsu has qb issues, and defensive issues.

You could combine the best players on Texas, Mizzou and Penn State and they couldn't beat us or half the other SEC teams.

I am speechless. And if you knew me, that is saying something.

The way the rankings should look.
As long as USC isn't in the top 5.

unfortunately I don't think it is. Most of the posters here have LSU rated higher than Oklahoma right now.

I guess holding Miss. St. to 24 is something no other team in the nation could do.

Well since SC let OSU run all OVER that azz, I'll take your comments w/ a grain of salt.

It SHOULD be....

1. OU (though they will lose the bowl game to whomever they play).
2. Bama (I want them here until we play em.
3. LSU
4. Missouri
5. Penn State

which if you actually read an article, and have even basic knowledge of how defenses work, you'd know that these "issues" are easily corrected. It's not personnel, and not even really scheme. The players weren't communicating with one another. Now, all the coaches and players are on the same page about the problem.

Expect improvement against Florida

Well we did the same thing last week when they had a BYE. So why wouldn't they jump us when we have a BYE.

I am not sure that Mizzou will jump us....
it will benefit the media to have # 2 and # 3 play...
...I am not sure of the composition of voters...
unless..they have Mizzou jump us and us jump them if we beat FL.

That’s cool. You need to know that we (LSU fans--most, I think) didn’t expect to be in the running for anything significant this year. Remember...our QB got kicked off the team, etc etc?

I don’t care where LSU is ranked now. I do care where they are ranked by the end of the year. We can drop a couple of games and still call this year a success. We didn’t get the super-hype the way USC and Georgia did. That’s why when these two teams lost, considering the manner / opponent, there was this flurry of anti-LSU propaganda going around the rant boards.

But anyone with a reasonable IQ knows that hate equals envy, or some other undesirable feeling that needs to be transformed into something more manageable. Hate works because its simple and one thereby avoids more uncomfortable sensations.
