When Freddie Mercury died I thought George Michael would be the perfect guy to replace him in Queen. He had the chops and his own identity, so I think the merger could have worked out great. But I haven't heard anything about him ever being considered to join Queen.

And then decades later the Adam Lambert debacle happened. It will never not boggle my mind that they chose a guy who doesn't sing in a rock voice. It doesn't matter that it worked out well financially for them.
