Depends heavily on factors like where your extended family lives. Those of you with toddlers and young children know how important a support network is during the pandemic when schools and day cares close for 10 days after an exposure.
Also the older I get, the more I think I had an advantage growing up in a small town.
So my vote goes to a nicer, small town in the south or mid west....wherever your family lives.

I could never leave my family. Have 6 kids throughout north La. I see the trash on the roads and see what people I live around when I go shopping and shake my head, but, I can't leave my kids, as much as I would like to move to north ark or parts of Tennessee,,,,nope. And overall, I'm very happy.

The midwest is an underrated place to raise a family. Granted, not the most exciting area of the country.
