Can’t you get a 4k 120hz hdmi 2.1 capable TV a little cheaper than you can do so with a monitor? Also at twice the size. I’ve read a ton of people are actually using the 48” CX as a pc “monitor” in favor of these high end monitors. I’m guessing the downside is the response time?
On my phone at work now so too lazy to re-research this right now. But he emphasized only using a 1080p monitor so I just assumed he was under equipped on the console as well.

TVs are generally significantly cheaper than monitors because of the difference in pixel density and the difference in processor (which is responsible for the much faster response time you noted).
