Why did we burn a transfer portal spot with a long snapper...

I realize someone has to deep snap, but c'mon...we've got holes to plug across the entire roster and the transfer portal is the quickest way to build a program and we're going to burn one of those 7 on a long snapper...seriously...

Because Skinner is an academic casualty and I'm guessing won't be back
They have some walk ons that could compete for the spot but they may not be the caliber of what you had in Skinner who was pretty consistent as the starter

Mkay let’s think about how important a long snapper is right quick:
We’re up three vs Bama next year. They stop us on our own 20 yd line, we line up in punt formation. Long snapper snaps the ball 5 yards over the head of our punter, they recover and score. We lose by 4.

You aren’t limited to just 7 transfer. If you don’t sign 25 high school recruits you can still sign a transfer to fill those spot before getting to the 7 extra transfer spots.

#1 we aren't limited to 7 transfers. We can fill in the 25 class with as many transfers as we want and add up to 7 more if we have 7 transfer out.
IN reality a team could sign 32 transfers if they had 7 players transfer out and signed no HS kids.
LSU will probably be able to sign up to 14 transfers or so. Which will be hard to do anyway.
#2 Did you not notice that we were missing our long snapper last night. 1 transfer spot on a reliable snapper isn't a big deal.
