My mom passed when she turned 95. Up until the last few mths, she was fully conscious & aware of her surroundings. My sister had the brilliant idea to hand her a tape recorder & over a period of a few weeks, Mom taped her life story. Obviously there were some gaps & I am sure some parts left uncovered, but we now have several hours of Mom telling her life story in her own words. Just her talking about all the now - every - day- things that had been invented during her life time was remarkable & highly entertaining. Numerous copies have been made & this will be a family heirloom to be passed down to all the following generations yet to come.

My great grandmother passed when she was 94 and I was 20. The stories she told have always stayed with me. Including some dude in Algiers offering her .25 which was the going rate for hookers in 1920ish.
