I don't get the so called joke either. But for the OP and anyone else who might care, a walk on named Matt O'Dowd is listed on dandy dons depth chart as the back up to Max Johnson, so I would assume it would be Matt O'Dowd. Also got to think Kirkland gets a lot of reps at QB as well. Probably going to use a lot of both of them early in the game and see what works. Should be pretty interesting.

Did some research on Matt O'Dowd and he is a 6'2" 204lb pro style freshman walk on QB from Pompano Beach Florida. He was offered a scholarship coming out of high school to some college called Davidson Wildcats but chose to walkon to LSU instead.

Jontre Kirkland is a 5'11" WR who played QB in high school at Lutcher high. In his bio it says he is a real shifty runner who makes defenders miss. At LSU they first tried him at CB and then back to WR. He does appear pretty fast and shifty with the ball.

I've heard the talk about Kirklin playing QB for the scout team and looking so good. I always questioned this because if he looked so good, he would have had some snaps as wildcat QB instead of other players the few times we have run it during his career.
