Luckily my wife has 6 months of maternity leave
Schedule a meeting with a labor attorney ASAP to determine if that is 6 months per pregnancy or per child

No twins, but meal prep now like there is no tomorrow. Get a bunch of those plastic quart sized containers and either pre-cook meals so you can drop in a pot of microwave, or pre-mix meals to drop in a crock pot. Have the freezer loaded and ready to go
Preplan the clothes the night before so you aren;t trying to change diapers/PJs and find something to wear.
Make sure the diaper bags are always packed. You will always forget something, but it you repack it once you get home the items you forget will never be diapers, wipes, change of cloths, pacifiers....
Always have snacks nearby, and for girls have hair bands and clips everywhere in the house. Not an issue early on, but one their hair is long enough they will eat there hair during every meal.

Just need to understand that their capabilities are multiplied...its not just two kids.
For example, for my first kid (not a twin), I could easily place something out of reach no problem. When the twins came, they would team work...like one will climb on the other etc and can get that object you thought was out of reach.
Free tip: a double bowl kitchen sink makes an excellent bath for twins.
