LOTR weekend for sure. (Love the Viggo toe break reference above )
Saw Fellowship of the Ring at the midnight premier. Truely a memorable experience, as I hadn't done a midnight movie in ages, and it was a really interesting cross section of older (even than me) Tolkien fans as well as HS, college kids. A few even dressed up, (young girls in she elf costumes - nice)
The ending was classic, straight out of the book. But even though everyone KNEW this was part 1 of a trilogy, and we'd been sitting there for over 2 1/2 hours, one girl actually said, ' no way!' as the credits rolled and she realized it was the end of the movie.
Always leave them wanting more.

Anyone other than me have a soft spot for Boromir? He's so... human. Carries the weight of bearing the burden of what he knows but refuses to accept is a dieing empire. He wants desperately to do anything to save it at whatever the personal cost. He's deeply flawed, but when the final test comes proves that he is not just a warrior, but a man of deep honor.
