Also pissed that it’s going to be 3 more months before we even get it.

Last thing I got on the furniture subject that most people don't know. If the store you buy furniture from ordered your one sofa and one loveseat from overseas, they would pay X price shipping and get it here faster. However, most furniture places will project how long it will take to get here being months out because they will buy a full Container at a much cheaper shipping rate of Y. So while it won't get here fast, the container will have like 30 sofas, 30 loveseats, 30 ottomans, etc. Etc. On that container, they will have all their special order stuff as well like your sofa and loveseat. So they have cheap stock to keep in their warehouses, and the expensive stuff coming in to go straight out to customer. This is why most companies won't let you just bring back a special ordered fabric or leather upholstery. They don't keep those in stock and it would just sit in a warehouse. They mostly only keep the cheaper shite in stock that they plan to run promotions on for holiday events and such.

TLDR: When they say it takes six months to get it in, it's cause they are filling containers and not shipping piece by piece.

As for the American Made stuff, they order parts from overseas as well. Just like "American" made appliances.

I own a furniture store. This is not true. Any special order furniture or container orders are taking 6 to 8 months. The back log of orders is astronomical at the moment. The industry has never seen anything like it before. Shortages of foam and fabric have been a major problem along with an increase in orders and labor shortages. Stores aren't just making up arbitrary delivery timelines. Most of my manufacturers at the moment are at a minimum of 6 months with a more likely delivery timeframe of 8 months.
