Why can’t we just wish a player or coach the best?

Just say “Thanks Coach Raymond! You coached a lot of great players, and did a good job. Best of luck to you.”

Or, “Thanks for doing your best Max Johnson. Hope things work out for you.”

Why do we have to convince ourselves that someone is trash if they leave? Maybe… Just maybe… things will be better without them. Maybe someone else will fill their spot and be a better fit here. Maybe we should just thank them and move on and let The Alignment happen.

Either with us or against us. Max left us high and dry a month before a bowl game making us burn a redshirt for the guy behind him. I’m not mad about Raymond if he is getting promoted, but we still play Florida and recruit against them every year. Sorry no one wants to send him a gift basket.

Well said, especially in light of the fact that NONE of us know the situation under which these decisions are made.

We’re 6-6 and barely squeaked into the Texas Bowl. It’s not like Max left us before the National Championship!

Still could have played the final game. I’m not mad and I hope the best for max, but you have to remember you are dealing with fans. It’s hard not to take it personally for a lot of fans. Raymond leaving in itself is a different beast, but it still is to a rival. Kind of some salt in the wound.

He's leaving for a rival that we play every year. I do not wish him luck in any endeavors that would be detrimental to LSU

Not an opponent. A guy who coached here for a long time and brought us a lot of good memories. You don’t have to hope he beats LSU, but you can wish him well personally.

No, what I'm saying is the attitude that since we aren't playing for a natty, and we are just 6-6 it's ok for Max to frick over his squad. Not very tenacious of anyone.

i don’t want to see him get hit by a truck or anything, but i wish no good fortune upon his current employer.

Max made a decision. You don’t have to like it, but you also don’t know anything about it. You have no clue what went into that decision. Nothing. But if you want to keep bitching about it, I’d say that’s the epitome of not being tenacious.

I recognize and am very thankful for the work the guy in Tuscaloosa did to change the trajectory of LSU football. So, yeah, I wish that man the best. And I still hope he loses every year to LSU. Two things can be true at once.
