#LSU pursued Jimbo Fisher to the very end. As we reported last week, there were phone calls with Fisher as late as the Thursday before the last game of the regular season.
I mentioned previously on a few occasions that I'm convinced Woodward was negotiating with several people simultaneously - at least Kelly, Jimbo, and Riley. I'm sure he probably approached a few others like Petersen, Fickel, and maybe even Saban. Until he had Kelly secure, he kept up contact with his primary targets. I don't know who his true favorite was, but this is how Woodward makes great hires. He identifies several targets, negotiates in parallel (rather than in sequence), maintains confidentiality, and he is relentless until he achieves his goal.
That's the context for this claim that Woodward "pursued Jimbo Fisher to the very end." He also pursued Kelly, Riley, and maybe a few others "to the very end."

If Woodward WASNT doing this, then he wasn’t doing his job.
I’m not so naive to think the only guy they talked to is the only one who ended up taking the job. Cmon man.
