If you heard Coach Kelly talk about the alignment and one-thinking in Baton Rouge regarding winning championships, it makes me wonder what was going on at ND. I think the story should be “ND doesn’t do enough to keep CBK.” Wondering if he’d been trying for years to get change and alignment at ND and finally came to the realization it wasn’t going to happen.

I think it’s as simple as he is 60 years old and wanted a change of scenery. Experience something new. A completely different culture

That and guaranteeing that his grandkids are set for life.

To me it’s that simple.

They were set for life regardless. He wanted to compete with similar/equal athleticism that the teams that make the playoff have...couldnt do that at ND.

The butthurt is entirely because ND has a chance at making the CFP. Any other situation and I don’t see this overreaction. It’s LSU against the World. Embrace it!

That's a helluva lot of heat and stress and leaving something certain for something uncertain for just a change of scenery. I believe he sees the SEC landscape setting up very nicely for what he's convinced is a very legit shot at making a notable championship run, perhaps even multiple years.

It would be foolish for anyone to think he's anything but a very intelligent person and football coach, so it stands to reason that he's thought this forward a ways, probably in pretty stark detail.

This is classic MSM leveraging ND’s national following to create emotional polarity to generate clicks and views. It’s a model that works well on political topics that also translates to the sports fan following in some cases. ND’s widespread love/hate is the reason why you see so much churn on CBK and not Riley

Good point. USC is more of a California thing
