I'm looking at this for convenience along with a couple attachments.
Makita XUX01M5PT 18V X2 (36V) LXT Brushless Cordless Couple Shaft Power Head 5Ah Kit w/ String Trimmer Attachment
LINK
Thanks
I purchased the Makita powerhead with these attachments line trimmer, adjustable hedge trimmer, pole saw along with an additional extension. I also purchased their handheld blower too.
When I was a young man I owned a Landscape business. My 2 cycles were predominantly Stihl products & a few Echo machines. I also had a powerhead made by Maruyama it was a super strong machine.
Anyway to the Makita 36volt lawn equipment.
I have had the set for the majority of a year and figured I would provide some info. First off everything works very well compared to the equipment I have used in the past. The units are balanced pretty well. I have 6, 5ah batteries. The units are as strong as any 2cycle commercial unit I have owned. I have used the units throughout the time I have had them, lawn work/grass is a year round thing here. I have taken down a couple large trees on my property with the pole saw, super impressed. The line trimmer is also very capable blows through tall brush with ease, my property backs up to a church owned field. They don't take care of their fence line. I sent the adjustable hedge trimmer back, I'm guessing they intended that for trimming brush/line trimmer style
I replaced it with the non adjustable hedge trimmer. Battery life works ok, I can't get through everything with one set. I use the line trimmer for edging plant beds as well as trimming one set of batteries w/charge left over when I'm done. I use a new set of batteries on the blower, both machines have charge left over but the blower certainly uses more power. I purchased a new gas edger before I purchased the Makita equipment
lol hindsight and stuff. I do like the equipment. I gave my brother my 2 cycle stuff but kept my old farm boss.

I dont know about the power heads for things like trimmers but I run a bunch of makita stuff (carpentry) and I've had no issues. I'm a brand lover for makita.

Yeah kind of why I'm looking at them. I have a few 18v hand tools myself.
I guess I'll be the OB guinea pig. I pulled the trigger this morning purchased the power head, line trimmer, adjustable hedge trimmer & the pole saw along with an additional extension. I'll surely add a few 5ah batteries & a couple shop related items over the next few months. Insert keep me posted gif
